JAKARTA - Google is brave enough to take action in the midst of the hectic news regarding Apple's annual event, WWDC 2022, to launch new features on its Pixel phones.
However, it will not affect the technology giant from Mountain View, California, United States (US), where it launched a number of features for the Google Pixel 4 to Pixel 6/6 Pro.
One such feature is the ability to directly add a vaccine card screenshot to the shortcut homepage. This feature is quite useful, considering the number of COVID-19 is still increasing in some areas. The feature is available in Canada, the US, and Australia.
The previously beta-tested Conversation Mode is also coming to Google Sound Amplier, which is designed to help filter out ambient noise for people with hearing loss.
Users can pick up the phone, point the camera at the subject, and the phone will use on-board machine learning to amplify their voice and filter out the background.
Furthermore, Google is also partnering with design firm Teenage Engineering for a new app called Pocket Operator, which offers fast and easy editing of music and videos.
With Pocket Operator, users can add sounds, effects, and more. It is available and downloadable on the Google Play Store for Pixel 5 and up.
Other new features include a reminder that sends a ping when a user accidentally leaves the flashlight on, as well as a Google Nest doorbell video feed directly on the lock screen.
Google is also introducing a new collection of wallpapers for Pride Month. Lastly, there's a new air quality alert feature in the works, currently it's still listed as a coming soon feature for the US, India and Australia.
