JAKARTA - Square, which is part of Block, Inc. (NYSE:SQ), a global technology company with a focus on financial services announced it is partnering with Apple to enable Tap to Pay on iPhones on Thursday, June 2.

"Resellers can begin testing Square Tap to Pay integration on iPhone through the Early Access Program this summer," Square said on its blog.

With this partnership, Square will create the ability to make contactless transactions for Apple users by making payments within the Square Point of Sale application. Square assures its users that payments with the POS application are secure.

Ahead of its public launch, Square announced an Early Access Program for Tap to Pay on iPhone. Selected sales will have the opportunity to try this technology first.

Square claims that Tap to Pay on iPhone gives sellers a simple solution for accepting payments without any additional hardware.

“As a seasonal business on the move, it's important to have an easy-to-use and reliable mobile option for accepting payments,” said Teddy Rojas, owner of Kona Ice Vacaville, an early participant in Square's Early Access Program.

Rojas added that Square and Apple made it very convenient to make sure we never missed a sale. "With Tap to Pay on iPhone, I can process contactless payments quickly, even on cellular services, and it provides a very easy experience so new staff can easily start and run payments on iPhone," he concluded.

Previously, it was revealed a video uploaded by user @NTFTWT on twitter showing that they were making Apple Pay payments directly to iPhones from Apple staff.
