JAKARTA - Buick Automotive, a subsidiary of General Motors, will launch the Electra-X electric car concept, which is a sport utility vehicle (SUV) developed through GM's latest Ultium platform. Through this plan, GM hopes to become a competitor to Tesla.

The Ultrium platform used in the car includes Super Cruise driver assistance technology and the Virtual Cockpit System.

General Motors in a press release quoted by Antara, on Sunday, May 29, stated that the car will be introduced in China in June 2022.

The Buick Electra-X is claimed to be bringing a series of new technologies that illustrate the future of electric mobility.

They did not specify the type of technology that will be used in the Electra-X, but GM ensures that the SUV will carry the EV concept with a driving mode that is safer, smarter, and by consumer characteristics.

Buick hasn't divulged the design of the Electra-X either, but they say the car offers ample cabin space. GM will announce the full look of the car at its official launch in China next month.
