JAKARTA - Sonic Origins has been rated by The Game Rating and Administration Committee of South Korea. This suggests that Sonic Origins will still be released in 2022. The compilation was originally announced in May 2021 during Sega's Sonic Central Presentation.
During the presentation, they revealed Sonic Colors Ultimate and teased the next Sonic game which became known as Sonic Frontiers. New images of Sonic Origins have also been spotted on the PlayStation servers.

Sonic Origins is a retro compilation that includes the following games:
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2
- CD sonik
- Sonic the Hedgehog 3
- Sonic & Knuckles
In an interview, last year with Jepang 4Gamer website, which VGC quoted, Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka confirmed that the games on Sonic Origins won't run on the emulator, but will be a completely new port.
