JAKARTA - Developer Epic Games officially added Coachella to the list of collaborations in the game Fortnite through its official website on Thursday, April 14.

The annual music festival announced today that it is partnering with developer Epic Games to release Coachella-themed skins and in-game features for their first foray into the world of gaming.

Coachella is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, in the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert, United States. Coachella is equally known for its appearance as with the clothes the participants wear.

So, it's only fitting that these two come to Fortnite. Coachella will release two series of skins to coincide with the first and second weekends of the music festival, starting April 14 and April 22.

The outfits that will be available will be outfits inspired by the Coachella style, reacting to the music played in the game. The first batch of items goes on sale in the Fortnite store on April 14 at 8 p.m. ET or on Friday, April 15 at 7 a.m. CST.

In addition to the skins, Coachella will also take over the in-game Icon Radio, and you'll be able to listen to music by over 30 artists from this year's festival lineup while in a Fortnite vehicle.

Fortnite has focused on music and live events in recent years. Marshmello and Ariana Grande have performed, and other artists have been part of music events built into the game's creative mode.

The Fortnite partnership is part of a larger push by Coachella this year towards the digital festival component. The festival has released several rounds of NFT and mobile AR features for attendees ahead of the festival.
