JAKARTA - CD Projekt RED recently confirmed that they have started development on the next The Witcher game, although the Polish developer is ready to start building his future, there is still work to be done on Cyberpunk 2077.

In a recent livestream via TheGamer, CD Projekt's Quest Director Pawel Sasko assured fans that CD Projekt is well aware of this.

"I can't tell you anything about our future plans," Sasko said, quoted by GamingBolt. "But I can assure you we're working on expansion, we're working on stuff for you guys."

Sasko said that the development team is actively working on the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, and even after the launch of the recent 1.5 update for the game that brought some improvements. There will still be improvements the studio wants to make based on feedback from players.

"We are still improving the game, because we are all aware that there is work to be done. We're so glad you guys liked 1.5, and it gives us even more incentive to work for you because you show your appreciation for it."

CD Projekt RED hasn't provided a specific roadmap for how it plans to support Cyberpunk 2077. Prior to launch, the developer said that post-launch support would be similar to The Witcher 3, suggesting that it would receive two full paid expansions and some free DLC drops.

Meanwhile, CD Projekt RED will use Unreal Engine 5 for future projects such as The Witcher 4. The Cyberpunk 2077 expansion will continue to use the developer's REDengine.
