E3 Officially Canceled, Entertainment Software Association Prepares Big Comeback Next Year

JAKARTA - Razer's PR, Will Powers, via his Twitter, revealed that the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) exhibition canceled the 2022 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

In a statement shared with IGN, ESA revealed that the show is preparing to make a big comeback next year.

Part of the reason for this year's cancellation was to allow the organization to focus its limited resources on making next year's event a big one.

“We will devote all of our energy and resources to delivering a revitalized physical and digital E3 experience next summer. Whether enjoyed from the show floor or your favorite device, Storefront 2023 will bring together communities, media and industry in new formats and interactive experiences," the statement read.

In closing, ESA also hopes that in the future they will be able to present E3 to fans around the world live from Los Angeles in 2023.

On Twitter, prominent industry insider Jeff Grubb has also posted about how the choice of major publishers to enter Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest, which will take place in June is also part of the reason why ESA chose to disband this year's event.
