JAKARTA - Apart from the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change has become the most discussed topic recently by the world community. Not wanting to be left behind, the CEO of Apple Inc., Tim Cook, in an interview also saw the events of fire, storm and floods that have just hit the world as evidence that climate change is real.
"This is horrendous. It is a reminder of how serious climate change is and what is at stake," Cook was quoted as saying by Channel News Asia, Tuesday, September 22.
Cook added that every disaster that comes is the impact of climate change. Cook even cited various natural disasters. Some of them range from forest fires that raged in the West of the United States (US), hurricanes that hit the south, and floods that occurred in the Northeast and Middle Atlantic.
"All of these (disasters) are happening together, I am sure to reassure people who are not currently convinced about climate change," Cook said.
Apple is making additional donations to firefighting and recovery across the West Coast. Our hearts are with those that have lost so much. The fires are an urgent reminder that we must act together to protect the planet we all share.

Even so, Cook refuses to answer the question that he has become the figure who has convinced US number one Donald Trump that climate change is real. Cook called it just a private conversation.
"I don't want to talk about it in detail…. My whole philosophy is engagement. I think it's more important to get involved when you don't agree on something," he added.
Previously, Trump was seen actively voicing against climate change in each of his campaigns. However, Trump actually appears to reject the opinion of state leaders who mention climate change as the cause of the fires that are increasingly burning forests in California to Washington.
Trump even maintains that the forest fires occur because of inadequate maintenance by local authorities. As a result, said Trump, the forest became flammable and the flames were spreading rapidly.
Meanwhile, Trump's challenger in the US presidential election, Joe Biden, has branded Trump a "climate burner" whose policies are seen to have contributed greatly to natural disasters.
