JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday, March 13 asked US software companies Microsoft Corp and Oracle Corp and German business software group SAP to stop support services for their products in Russia.

This is part of Western sanctions against Russia, which since February 24 has been attacking Ukraine.

"Stop supporting your product in Russia, stop the war!" Zelensky tweeted.

By blocking the service, Zelensky hopes that Russia will find it difficult to implement technology that comes from the West. At least this will annoy the Russian government to use access to technology to attack Ukraine.

Microsoft itself has actually stopped shipping its goods and products to Russia since last week. However, it is not clear whether this is really effective, because Microsoft products already owned by the Russian side will still work.
