JAKARTA - Warren Spector, the creator behind video game titles such as System Shock, Deus Ex and Epic Mickey, announced Wednesday, March 2, that he is working on new intellectual property at studio OtherSide Entertainment.
"It feels great to be working with such a talented team on a new title and new IP," Spector said of the new project.
Spector also said that they are in the early stages of developing the game. "Fans of my work already know what to expect: an immersive world and engaging narrative that will have an immediate impact on players through their choices and playstyle. We're still in early development and look forward to sharing more information soon!" he continued.
On the other hand, Spector hasn't spoken about what the game is about yet, but some key art has already been revealed, other than its logo which looks like a whale.
OtherSide also mentions that they are hiring people across the United States, from game engineers to audio directors for a major job.
Veteran game producer Jeff Goodsill will oversee the production of Spector and other titles yet to be announced as they are still in development, as well as help develop them.
OthersideStudio is also working on System Shock 3. The game, which was originally announced in 2015, appears to be facing a rocky road in its development.
Then, in 2018, its publisher, Starbreeze ran into financial difficulties which left OtherSide struggling alone. Until it was finally announced that the Chinese conglomerate, Tencent, would bring the System Shock franchise forward in 2020.
Of course, fans of the series should stay alert for the System Shock remake, which seems to have progressed well in its development from Nightdive.
