JAKARTA - Microsoft has fulfilled its promise to bring new emojis to its product ecosystem. The 3D emoji design has landed on its video conferencing app, Teams.

The company brings over 1,800 emojis, which is why Teams is getting a refresh with the arrival of these emojis, so users can express themselves.

Although still in preview version, users can activate it. To enable emojis, navigate to the app's settings menu, then go to the About section and click Public Preview.

However, Teams users may not see the option to enable it if the admin has disabled the ability to preview new features.

Otherwise, 3D emoji can be viewed on every platform where users can use Microsoft Teams, such as on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux, and all supported web browsers.

After enabling them, they will appear in chats and channels, as well as in the reactions tab. Some of the characters feature animations, and when it comes to emoji with skin tones, users will have six options to choose from.

“Users will see a new look at most of the previous Teams emojis, along with several new options. All emojis that support skin tones will continue to have six skin tone options," said Kaushal Mehta, a member of the Microsoft Teams Engineering team on the company's official blog, as quoted from Engadget, Wednesday, February 16.

While Microsoft Teams is getting new 3D emojis, Microsoft is only rolling out the 2D version in Windows 11 and the company is still working on 3D emojis for Windows.
