JAKARTA - The sports car manufacturer, Ferrari will partner with Qualcomm Technologies. The Italian automaker, reported Tuesday, February 8, will use a premium Snapdragon chipset product, from the San-Diego-based group. This is done to accelerate the sports car maker's digital transformation.

The deal will involve road cars and race cars for the Ferrari Formula One team and first public projects, including the creation of an all-digital cockpit, according to a source from the automaker.

Ferrari's new CEO, Benedetto Vigna, a well-known technology industry veteran, said in November that Ferrari would seek technology partnerships as it moves forward with the transition to cleaner mobility and to transform technologies that also require high investment.

"Innovation requires market leaders to work together. Thanks to this agreement ... we are expanding our knowledge in digital and web 3.0 technologies, areas with great potential for automotive and motorsport," Vigna said in a statement.

Thanks to the partnership, the Snapdragon logo will debut on the F1-75 racing model. The Ferrari single-seater race car will be unveiled at the company's headquarters in Maranello on 17 February.

They hope the supply of new technology in the engine and steering gear, will make Ferrari more competitive in the 2022 F1 season.
