Jack Dorsey Can't Be Separated From Twitter, His Name Is Back On The Bluesky Board

JAKARTA - Bluesky, a Twitter Inc-funded project that seeks to rebuild the way social media companies operate, said Monday, February 7 that Twitter co-founder and former chief executive, Jack Dorsey, will join the company's board.

Bluesky is working to build technology that will allow different social media companies to operate on the same standard. This technology will allow developers to build applications that work across platforms and users to easily switch between services.

Dorsey first announced Bluesky in 2019, saying the effort would take years to build. The vision to build a “decentralized” standard for social media emerged as industries, including finance and technology, saw a growing movement to transfer power or operations. from central authorities such as companies and governments to users.

Jay Graber, Bluesky's chief executive, said in a blog post on Monday that the organization would build and release "a prototype that describes our approach."

According to a Reuters report, Graber also stated that the Bluesky Board also includes developer Jeremie Miller, who invented the technology that the instant messaging service uses to operate.
