JAKARTA - Telegram has reportedly added new capabilities to its instant messaging application. The update includes video stickers, improved message reactions, interactive emojis, new navigation options, along with several bug fixes.
The instant messaging service rivals WhatsApp and Signal will now allow users to create animated stickers from videos. This will allow users to create their own stickers from regular videos, simplifying the sticker creation process.
Users can create stickers using any video editing platform and publish sticker packs using a sticker bot.
Another improvement is in message reactions, now users can show larger reactions by long pressing on the desired reaction.
Launching Neowin, Wednesday, February 2nd, these reactions are synced and recipients will see the animation in real time. Reactions also have a read status and a heart icon appears in the chat list menu when the user has an invisible reaction.
Telegram has also added five more reactions and can be sent as interactive emojis. Users can now send faces with hearts, heads exploding, thinking faces, angry faces, and clapping emojis. Sending any of the above-mentioned emoji will display an animation when the user taps on it.
Apart from that, Telegram has also improved its in-app navigation. Users can now hold the Back button to return to a specific chat. This chat includes chats opened from forwarded messages, links, usernames, profiles and more.
Then lastly, this update is quite important for users regarding security, where Telegram introduces many bug fixes and improvements with this update.
