JAKARTA - The National Cyber Password Agency (BSSN) again experienced a hacking incident, this time the target was the Legal Documentation and Information Network (JDIH) site.

From VOI's monitoring, the site with the address https://jdih.bssn.go.id/ has not yet recovered, but it is not known for sure whether this is the effect of the hack or just periodic repairs. It is known that some data has been stolen from the site.

Spokesman for BSSN, Anton Setiyawan, explained that the data was claimed to have been obtained by threat actors since March 14, 2021.

"(But it was only) published in the deep web forum on January 31, 2022 with the estimated motivation to show the existence of threat actors," Anton said in an official statement received by VOI, Tuesday, February 1.

Anton explained that the data in the deep web forum includes articles, legal documents, rules, documentation of activities, as material for socialization and some other data.

This system, said Anton, JDIH is a system that can be accessed by the public, and is an old system that is in the process of being updated. Fortunately, this incident did not affect the business processes at BSSN.

"This incident does not affect the business processes at BSSN. Other data are not affected by this incident," explained Anton.

Currently, Anton and his party have restored the site and prevented the hack from happening again. "(We have) carried out the response and recovery process and prevented further impacts. (Also) conducted searches on the accounts of criminals," said Anton.

The news of the BSSN hack was first conveyed by the Twitter account @darktracer_int yesterday. Meanwhile, within BSSN itself, the data leak incident was reported by the Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) team from the Cyber Security Operations Directorate. This report was then received by BSSN-CSIRT for further investigation.
