JAKARTA - Just starting at the beginning of the year, Microsoft has added a noise canceling feature to its Teams video conferencing app. Users do not need to activate this feature manually, but the feature will be enabled by default for most users.

Once this feature is enabled, as a result any background noise will automatically be muted during meetings or events held in Microsoft Teams.

In addition, although users sometimes don't like music and background noise, Microsoft has also created a high-fidelity music mode.

When activated, this mode will stream sound from the user's laptop or PC including all background sounds in high quality.

According to a new post on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the software giant has developed a new machine learning-based music detector that can notify users whenever music is detected.

Furthermore, Teams users will also see a notification at the bottom of their screen that reads, “Music detected and may be hidden. Turn on high fidelity mode to make sure everyone hears your music clearly," it appears next to a button to enable high fidelity mode as well as another button to dismiss notifications altogether.

Microsoft is known to continue to develop its Teams app, as last year, it and Facebook parent company Meta teamed up to integrate the enterprise social networking software Workplace Meta with Microsoft Teams.

This integration gives customers access to Workplace content within the Teams app. Likewise, users can view Teams video meetings in the Workplace app.

Through the embedded tabs in Teams, users can access Workplace content, including compact versions of the Workplace newsfeed, without having to switch between apps. They can also react to and comment on Workplace posts in Teams.

Starting this year, companies will be able to stream Teams meetings to Workplace groups. This way, users will be able to watch meetings and events in any of the apps or view their recordings later on Workplace.
