The Instagram Add Yours Feature Makes A Commotion, Netizens Become Victims Of Fraud!

JAKARTA - Recently, the new Instagram Add Yours feature has been milling about in Stories on Meta's application. But apparently, this feature was successfully used by irresponsible people to commit fraud.

The Add Yours feature initially allowed content creators to turn their Stories posts into threads, where other users could respond with their own content matching specific requests.

For example, content creators may share an Add Yours request with an OOTD (Outfit Out The Day) theme of the day, or a nickname, prompting other users to share stories of their own outfit or nickname in response to the request.

Although it looks fun, this feature turns out to be a disaster for some people because of the leaking of personal data. One Twitter user with the @DitaMoechtar account shared an upload that said that her friend became a victim of fraud after following the Add Yours feature trend.

It should be noted that personal data should not be arbitrarily shared with anyone, especially on social media where it is clear that privacy cannot be maintained safely.

In order to avoid a similar thing from happening, social media users should be careful and clearly know what personal data should not be shared on social media.
