Wants To Be A Technical Secretary At Barcelona After Retirement, Messi: Barca Is The Club I Love

JAKARTA- Lionel Messi revealed his plans after retiring as a footballer. He wants to serve as technical secretary and hopes to do so at Barcelona.

The Argentine superstar spent 21 years of his professional career with Barcelona and has become one of the best players in the club's history.

However, Messi was forced to leave Barcelona because they were unable to extend his contract.

Although La Pulga is currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain, he still promised to return to Camp Nou someday as part of his plans after retiring.

"Yes, (I want to return to Barca one day). I've always said I would love to be able to help Barca," Messi said in an interview with Spanish media by Sport, quoted by MARCA on Monday.

"I want to be technical secretary someday. I don't know if it's at Barcelona or somewhere else."

"If possible, I would like to return to contribute to the best of my ability because Barca is a club that I love and I want them to continue to do well, continue to develop, and continue to be one of the best in the world."

Messi himself signed a two-year contract at PSG last August and has the option to extend it for another year.

Messi has made eight appearances for PSG this season and scored three goals, all in the Champions League.

However, he has yet to register a single goal in Ligue 1 in five appearances.
