Good News From Indonesian Badminton, Pram/Yeremia Men's Doubles Win The Title In Belgium

JAKARTA - In the match between Indonesian pairs in the final of the Belgian International Challenge badminton tournament, Indonesian men's doubles Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yacob Rambitan won the title after defeating their national teammates Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana in two straight games 21-18, 22-20 on Saturday.

"For this victory, Pram and I may be more prepared than Fikri and Bagas. In terms of the game, we already know each other, because we practice together and in practice we have often won or lost," said Yeremia through a written statement from PP PBSI in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Sunday, October 31.

Even so, the second-seeded men's doubles couldn't hide his excitement when he was able to beat his compatriot who was the top seed in this tournament.

"I am very grateful for my and Pram's achievements in this Belgian International Challenge tournament, hopefully with this result we hope to add enthusiasm to the next tournament," said Yeremia.

In the 31-minute match, Pram/Yeremia proved the quality of their game by locking the advantage in two consecutive games.

In the opening game, Pram/Jeremiah did not face any significant obstacles. Just before the end of the first interval, Fikri/Bagas managed to catch up from 10-7 to 10-10.

However, Pram/Yeremia were able to end Fikri/Bagas' resistance and regained the lead until the first game ended.

Likewise in the second game, Pram/Jeremiah did not face significant pressure from their opponents. However, ahead of the points game, suddenly Fikri/Bagas stuck to the score.

Luckily in the points game, Pram/Jeremiah were able to score two consecutive points and ensured their victory on the highest podium.

Although Indonesia successfully sent two representatives in the final round, PBSI will still evaluate any shortcomings seen by the four athletes.

"Yes, I'm happy to have been able to 'All Indonesian Final', but there are still some things that need to be improved from a non-technical side. For example, calm in playing, still in a hurry, so many balls die by themselves," said the assistant coach of the main men's doubles, Aryono Miranat.
