JAKARTA - The government continues to accelerate the Digital Learning program as an effort to equalize the quality of national education. One of the steps taken is to provide internet access services at schools so that all students and teachers can make optimal use of digital learning services.

Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) RI, Muhammad Qodari explained, with the strengthening of internet connectivity and the development of a digital learning ecosystem, educational transformation is expected to run more evenly. Not only in urban schools, but also in the Backward, Leading, and Outermost (3T) regions.

According to Qodari, all educational units must have access to quality, modern, and technology-based educational services. Therefore, the government through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) targets as many as 16,557 educational units to receive internet access by 2026.

"In terms of internet connectivity, for support for the Digitalization of Learning Program, in 2025 a total of 8,265 schools were recipients of internet access. In the 2026 plan, a total of 16,557 educational units are the target for internet access fulfillment," said Qodari in his statement, Thursday, July 2.

Qodari said that expanding internet access was a strategic step to ensure that all students had the same opportunity to access technology-based learning. He explained, currently most educational units in Indonesia have been connected to the internet, although there are still schools that are priority for network expansion.

"Nationally, 77 percent of educational units in Indonesia currently have access to the internet, while the other 23 percent are still not accessible and are a focus of attention in the future," he explained.

In addition to strengthening connectivity, the government is also continuing to develop the use of digital learning platforms through the Education Home Ecosystem which is an integrated platform to integrate various digital education services.

"This is part of the implementation of Presidential Decree Number 7 of 2025 concerning the acceleration of digitalization of learning and strengthening quality education services," he said.

He added that the integration of various digital services continues to be carried out so that all stakeholders in education can obtain more effective and easily accessible services.

"Through the integration of various digital education services, including the joining of Ruang GTK into the Education House since June 2026, this platform is designed to provide education services that are more accessible, integrated, and efficient for all education stakeholders," he explained.

In its implementation, the Education House Ecosystem presents a number of main services. One of them is the Student Room, which provides digital learning resources, assessments, and character development materials for students.

Qodari revealed that these services are now widely used by the public. The Student Room feature, for example, has recorded 1.3 million monthly active users. Meanwhile, the Teacher Room has recorded more than 3 million visits and, starting June 2026, will gradually be integrated into the Education House ecosystem.

Guru Space itself is a platform for developing competencies and services for teachers and education personnel, including self-training, performance management, and professional development.

The government, said Qodari, also optimizes the School Space as a data-based platform that helps manage educational units through the use of Education Reports to improve the quality of learning.

"School Space is a digital service that supports the management of data-based educational units, including through the Education Report as an instrument for evaluating and improving the quality of education," he concluded.

To date, more than 280 thousand schools throughout Indonesia have utilized the School Room or Education Report to support decision-making and improving the quality of learning.
