JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will face Taiwan in the 2023 Asian Cup qualifying play-off match at Chang Arena Buriram Stadium, Thailand, Thursday, October).

The 2023 Asian Cup qualifying play-offs will take place twice. The two teams will meet again on Monday, October 11.

Citing the official Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) website, Indonesia is optimistic about winning against Taiwan. Careful preparation and hard work of players will be the key to success to bend Taiwan.

Even so, Taiwan must be wary of, especially in terms of their FIFA ranking, which is superior to Indonesia. Currently, Taiwan is in the 151st position with 1046 points, while Indonesia is in the 175th position, with 957 points.

In head to head, Indonesia is clearly superior. Of course, this can increase the confidence of Evan Dimas and his friends.

Indonesia has won over Taiwan in 12 meetings between the two countries. The Garuda squad was able to achieve eight wins and only lost four times.

The Garuda squad managed to gain 28 goals and conceded 11 goals from those 12 matches. Even Indonesia was able to bulldoze Taiwan with a score of 10-1 in 1968 at the Merdeka Tournament which took place in Malaysia.
