Iniesta: One Day I Will Return To Barcelona

JAKARTA - Midfield master Andres Iniesta recently spoke in an interview with the BBC about his career and what he might want to do in the future.

He spoke about his old club Barcelona, ​​where he grew to become one of the greatest midfielders of his generation.

"Barcelona is like a test in every game and you have to go through it," Iniesta said.

"That's the bottom line and whenever you have to adapt to the environment, mold yourself to the style that's required of you - but always keep the essence."

The 37-year-old, who now plays for Vissel Kobe, the J-Lague club, has worked with some of the best coaches, but he won't say who is the best.

"It will be difficult to pinpoint a coach who has influenced me the most and it's the same with the players I've played with and learned from," said Iniesta.

"I have been at Barcelona and the Spanish national team in very good moments and I have been with the best players in the world and I have learned from them all."

Barcelona are going through a difficult period and are struggling both domestically and in Europe, but Iniesta believes they can get back on track, despite looking a long way from the team he plays for.

"I will always look at Barcelona in a good way because I still see a different team," he said.

"A lot of things have changed since then. Of course the players are different but there are still ideas, concepts."

When asked about a possible return to his old club, Iniesta said it was something he wanted to do.

"Yeah, it's something I wish I could do," he said. "I wanted it to happen because more than anything, this is the club where I spent many years.

"You don't know what the future holds, you don't know in what way I can come back or who will be the one in charge at any given moment.

"So there are a lot of factors that make it hard to see what's really going to happen, but if you ask me if I would, the answer is yes."
