JAKARTA - Former Barcelona recruit Toni Freixa believes that the issues related to VAR go far beyond Barcelona's complaints.
Real Madrid's journey in pursuit of the La Liga title this season has often been rewarded with penalties. This received criticism, especially from the Catalunya team.
However, Freixa denies that these concerns only arise from Los Blaugarana.
"There are things that support these theories that they (Madrid) were assisted (by the referee)," Freixa said on Radio MARCA's 'Di Diario' program.
"We are in a country where people complain about everything and, for me, what has happened to VAR since the restart is worth investigating.
"A lot of things happened that everyone saw - not just fans of Barcelona.
"In a dubious situation, all decisions go one way. I've never seen that before."
Barcelona is going through something of a crisis right now, but Freixa doesn't see it that badly.
"I don't think it's that bad, even if you want to describe the situation as apocalyptic," he said,
"It's true that (Barca's) winning cycle is over (but not that bad)."
