JAKARTA - Oscar De La Hoya admits that he was raped as a child. This he revealed when speaking to the Los Angeles Times
The Golden Boy - nicknamed De La Hoya - is back from retirement and is scheduled to take on Victor Belfort on September 11. However, the plan failed to materialize after he was declared exposed to COVID-19.
In a video posted on Twitter, De La Hoya said that he is now being treated in hospital despite receiving a COVID-19 vaccination.
Wanted you to hear directly from me that despite being fully vaccinated, I have contracted Covid and am not going to be able to fight next weekend. Preparing for this comeback has been everything to me over the last months, & I want to thank everyone for their tremendous support. pic.twitter.com/0wKEnr5Jzv

Before testing positive for COVID-19, De La Hoya spoke to the Los Angeles Times. He reveals his past.
"I was raped at the age of 13, from a woman, an older woman," De La Hoya said.
"I was 13 years old and I lost my virginity because, you know, being raped, basically."
"I was in Hawaii, I think, in some tournaments. She was over 35."
De La Hoya, a former six-weight world champion, is currently in a relationship with golf presenter Holly Sonders.
Sonders was previously engaged to 'Vegas Dave', the self-proclaimed greatest sports gambler of all time. However, their engagement foundered last year.
