Viral, This Elementary School Allows Students To Be Late To School For Euro 2020 Final

JAKARTA - England will make history when they face Italy in the Euro 2020 final, the Three Lions' first final since winning the 1966 World Cup.

After 27 million people watched Gareth Southgate's side's semi-final win over Denmark on Wednesday night, Queen Elizabeth II's entire country will be back on television next Sunday.

It could be a very late night if it comes to extra time and penalties. That doesn't even include the celebration of victory if Harry Kane and the team have won the Euros.

In response to the Three Lions' success reaching the summit of Euro 2020, Rossmere Elementary School went viral for their decision to allow children to arrive late if they were to watch the final match. This is done to ensure that the children are not tired and can study well.

The school explained the decision in a post on Facebook which then spread everywhere.

Worried that some would go the wrong way and think it was an excuse not to bring the kids to class on Monday, the school later added, "We didn't expect this post to get so much interest as it was only targeted at Rossmere's parents.

Just a few notes in response to negative comments. Here's the Rossmere Elementary School's official statement.

1. We don't encourage children to skip school - quite the opposite. With a number of parents allowed on Mondays, we don't want to see the kids taking the whole day off because they're tired. Allowing some students to arrive late means they will be ready to study when they arrive. Changing schedules means they won't miss out on studying.

2. All children have experienced a breakdown in their education and life experiences over the past 16 months. The task of the school is to provide the best experience to the children, which will help in their education. This is an event of national pride and an important teaching point that we want children to be a part of.

3. Several other schools are doing the same and we are not the first!

Thank you for the positive comments. Rossmere is an amazing school with amazing staff, children, and family.

As Rossmere Elementary School noted above, they are not the only school that offers students the opportunity to enter later in the day after the finals. There are already several other schools that have posted similar messages.

Of course, adults also wish they had a similar dispensation from their workplace because they all wake up with a headache on Monday.

But will Three Lions fans celebrate the win? Or even experience sadness? Will football return to its home like the fans echoed by the phrase Football is Coming Home? The answer is on Monday morning.
