JAKARTA - The Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) invites parties related to the 2021 XX National Sports Week (PON) in Papua on Friday, June 25, 2021 or 99 days before the grand event officially begins.

Chairman of the Central KONI Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) Marciano Norman led a meeting attended by representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), the XX PON Grand Committee, and the Supervisory and Steering Committee (Panwasrah).

At the beginning of the meeting, the General Chairperson of the Central KONI asked to work harder for the success of the first PON in Papua. He also emphasized to improve communication and coordination considering the time to prepare for PON XX is getting closer.

"The mayor of Jayapura has so far continued progress, there are several things they have to prepare as well," he said explaining that he had communicated and coordinated well with the regional head, who initially rejected PON XX.

The meeting held at the Central KONI office discussed all developments in accordance with the fields in PB.PON XX. Field I is in charge of matches, arenas, equipment, ceremonies. Field II covers HR, marketing, information communication technology and security. Division III is responsible for matters of accommodation, transportation, consumption, health and doping. Finally, Division IV takes care of matters related to facilities and infrastructure, the environment, socio-cultural and socio-economic.

It started with a report from the Head of Division I Yusuf Yambe Yabdi who discussed the exercise venue. In order to accelerate the preparation of PON XX, the Central KONI provides priority suggestions. The first is related to the acceleration of policy delivery to Sub. PB.PON by each field. Second, the need for consistency in venue preparation and maintenance. The third is to accelerate the preparation of the opening and closing ceremonies of PON XX. The fourth is related to accommodation preparation and also the procurement of Panpel, Referee & Jury uniforms. The fifth is related to the implementation of consumption.
