JAKARTA - Czech Republic national team striker Patrik Schick admits that he has been watching Scottish goalkeeper David Marshall's movements since the first half before scoring his beautiful goal in the Group D Euro 2020 match at Hampden Park, Glasgow, Monday.
Schick scored his second with a shot from near the halfway line and the ball could not be caught by Marshal who when the Czech counter-attack began standing outside the Scottish penalty box.
According to statistics website Opta, that is the furthest distance in a Euro main draw match of all time.
"During the game, I kept looking at where the opposing goalkeeper was standing, if that kind of situation could arise. Then the situation came and I saw it far from the goal, so I took the kick," said Schick after the match, reported by Antara from the official UEFA website.
"It was fantastic to see the ball went in perfectly. I immediately ran to celebrate with our fans who were in the stadium," he added.

Schick scored the Czech's two-goal winner, having opened the scoring three minutes before the break with a header in a corner.
However, Schick gave great credit to the performance of his partner, goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik who he called phenomenal playing in preventing some dangerous chances of Scotland.
"Tomas Vaclik was phenomenal today, he helped us a lot," he said.
"If Scotland scores just one goal, the game will turn into nervousness for us," Schick added.

With those two goals, Schick currently shares a place with Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku as the leader of the provisional top scorer list for Euro 2020.
Schick certainly hopes to add to his tally of goals, but the Bayer Leverkusen forward insists it is important that the Czechs appear with the same spirit and cohesion for the remaining two games in Group D.
The Czechs in the 2016 edition ended as the bottom of the group stage, just four years after reaching the quarter-finals.
"We have to face the next two games against Croatia and England with the same cooperation and passion," he said.
"We have to exert more capabilities for those two games. I'm sure we will be able to perform well," concluded Schick.
The Czechs currently lead the standings in Group D on goal difference and will face Croatia at Hampden Park on Friday, 18 June before flying to London against England four days later.
