Ahead Of Indonesia Vs Thailand Match, Shin Tae-yong: We Came To Work As Hard As We Can

JAKARTA - Indonesia's national team coach Shin Tae-yong confirmed that his squad underwent the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian zone to win every match, including against Thailand today, Thursday.

"We will not qualify for the next round. However, we have come to work hard, as much as possible," Shin said in an official PSSI statement as quoted by Antara.

The South Korean coach asked his players not to be afraid to face Thailand, instead, the resistance should be given as fiercely as possible because the match will be broadcasted live.

"We want to show that Indonesian football still has hope," said Shin.

National team midfielder Evan Dimas stated that he and his teammates were not in Dubai to relax, but were looking forward to playing against Thailand.

"This is the moment we have been waiting for because it will be our first international match after the COVID-19 pandemic," said Evan.

The Indonesian national team will face the final three matches of Group G Qualification for the 2022 World Cup in the Asian zone on 3-11 June 2021 in Dubai.

The Garuda squad will try out Thailand on June 3, 2021, then Vietnam on June 7, 2021, and the United Arab Emirates on June 11, 2021.

Indonesia vs Thailand match will be held at the Al Marktoum Stadium, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, at 23.45 western Indonesia time.

In Dubai, Evan Dimas and his friends have undergone two test matches against Afghanistan and Oman with the results always losing 2-3 and 1-3, respectively.
