JAKARTA - Two athletes from North Sumatra (Sumut) managed to top the men's standings after playing the first 18 holes of the Faldo Series Indonesia (Gunung Geulis Country Club) Presented by Birdie Bandits 2026.
The first round of the golf competition for youth players took place on Thursday, February 6, 2026, at Gunung Geulis Country Club (West Course), Bogor, West Java. The first day also played the Faldo Junior Tour category.
The Junior Tour category is divided into 2 classes, namely boys & girls (boys-girls) U-16 and under (up to 13 years old) and U-21 and under (up to 17 years old). A total of 30 golfers competed in the two classes played today.
These participants come from nine provinces, clubs, and communities, as well as the host Birdie & Bandits. After undergoing one round of 18 holes, two athletes from North Sumatra managed to top the two men's class standings. Kifata Aftar leads the U-21 class leaderboard.
The 18-year-old golfer scored 74 (3-over-par) in the first round today. He is temporarily ahead of Muhammad Naabil Al Manaaf (Pergola UI) who scored 77 (6-over-par) and is in second place.
Meanwhile, Fadhlan Azzam Atmajah topped the U-16 class standings. The 15-year-old golfer played better than his older brother, scoring 72 (1-over-par), to perch at the top of the U-16 boys' standings and two strokes ahead of Yujun Cha (Sim's Academy).
"For today's momentum, it's in the second shot. GIR is pretty much today. I just need to practice chipping and putting for tomorrow," said Fadhlan.
As for the women's number, national athlete Sania Talitha Wahyudi managed to play a solid game in the middle of the field conditions that were quite heavy to play due to the rain last night.
The golfer representing Maja Golf Club leads the leaderboard with a score of 72 (1-over-par). He also leads by two strokes over Renoctoviana Ramadhiani Said from DKI Jakarta.
Sania admitted that he was happy to play very consistently in the midst of a very muddy field condition that made his shots sink.
"Overall, my game was okay. I was three over (above par). Fortunately, I was able to get two birdies in the last few holes. So, I was able to come back, only one over," he said.
Meanwhile, in the girls' U-16 class, Elevania Nurfasha from West Java temporarily led the standings. The 14-year-old golfer scored 79 (8-over-par), three strokes better than Freya Julia Davania (North Sumatra) who was in second place with 82 (11-over-par).
Furthermore, the Faldo Series will play the second round of the Faldo Junior Tour which is intended for the boys and girls aged 13 to 21 years on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
