JAKARTA The women's singles badminton player, Kusuma Wardani, wants to prove herself by winning the title in the Indonesia Masters 2026, which is scheduled to take place on January 20-25.

Putri at the end of this year has a very positive trend. Last week she managed to enter the final round at the 2025 Australian Open. Unfortunately she lost against world number one badminton player An Se Young.

This achievement made the Tangerang-born badminton player dare to set a high target in the coming year, especially the Indonesia Masters which took place at home, at Istora Senayan.

"Obviously I am very excited to welcome the upcoming Indonesia Master 2026. For the target, I want to win at home. I have finished three times in Super 500 so I want to show I can win," he said in Jakarta.

The 23-year-old badminton player has reached the final round twice. Prior to Australia, he also stepped into the same stage at the Hylo Open, which is also at the BWF Super 500 level, but lost against Mia Blichfeldt.

Previously last year, Putri also stepped into one final stage in the BWF Super 500 level tournament, precisely at the Hong Kong Open. At that time he failed to get the title because he lost against the women's singles from China, Han Yue.

The Secretary General of PBSI, Ricky Subagja, hopes that when he is at the Indonesia Masters, the host representatives can perform optimally and meet the desired targets.

"Until now, PBSI wants to continue to improve the achievements of the first and foremost athletes. Especially at the Indonesia Masters 2026, the spirit is extraordinary for our athletes. Hopefully, there will be more than one title at Istora later," he said.

In this year's edition, representatives of Merah-White failed to give the title at the Indonesia Masters. Two representatives who entered the final, namely Jonatan Christie and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, all must recognize the opponent's superiority.
