Jorge Martin Wants To Be Able To Comeback Like Marc Marquez

JAKARTA MotoGP world champion who currently defends Aprilia, Jorge Martin, is deeply inspired by Marc Marquez's extraordinary comeback and believes he can do the same.

Marquez suffered a series of serious injuries that seriously threatened his career before returning to glory this year to secure his seventh MotoGP title in his extraordinary career journey.

Marquez's extraordinary comeback managed to inspire Jorge Martin, a rider who was haunted by many injuries before the 2025 season began so that he failed to defend his title.

"Obviously this is a great example of a great comeback. I don't want to compare myself to Marquez. He's really a different person and a different racer, but I know I can do it too," Martin said.

Marquez took the highest podium in a championship this year to break a record six years after he last brought home the world title in 2019 while still defending Honda.

The Spaniard did not actually finish this season due to injury. However, his dominant appearance made him lock the title early even though some series had not yet been held.

Martin, on the other hand, won the world title in the 2024 edition after defeating defending champions at the time Francesco Bagnaia. However, his efforts to defend the title ended before the season began with two injuries during pre-season.

He then returned, but was immediately haunted by broken ribs and lung damage while in an accident in Qatar. His next injury suffered from a broken spine after colliding with his own teammate, Marco Bezzecki in Japan.

Martin said that he was happy to be in Aprilia's project even though his first season with the Italian manufacturer was haunted by many nightmares.

"I'm a really different racer and I need time to adapt to this bike. I think the potential of this bike is extraordinary. My potential is extraordinary. We just need to adjust it," he said.
