Dubois Withdraws From The IBF Final Elimination Match Against Sanchez

JAKARTA Daniel Dubois officially withdrew from the IBF final elimination duel against Frank Sanchez. The decision also closed his chances against Oleksandr Usyk for the third time.

This elimination fight is actually a door for Dubois to return to the world title race.

Now, Jared Anderson appears as the next highest ranking challenger in the IBF heavyweight rankings.

Queensberry as the promoter of Dubois said the IBF final elimination match against Sanchez actually did not provide great benefits to their clients.

"The Chisora series has been designated as a mandatory challenger for the IBF at the last convention so that the match against Frank Sanchez is just to determine who will be next after Chisora," Queensberry said.

Dubois became the fourth boxer to reject the final elimination duel against Sanchez, following Efe Ajagba, Moses Ituma, and Richard Torrez Jr.

Queensberry also assessed that IBF's position was at the back in Usyk's undisputed title line. If Dubois accepted the match, his choice to pursue another title path would be narrower.

Daniel was proud to have won the IBF, but the orders and fights did little to help his career or return him to the world title race," the promoter said.

Dubois is expected to fight again in 2026 with a number of great opportunities waiting for him. He is currently in fourth place in WBO heavyweight.

The British fighter is in the same management as the new WBO world champion, Fabio Wardley, who is very ready to undergo the match to defend his title.

"Furthermore for Wardley is to defend the title. So, he will fight someone who is in the top 10. He will face one of those boxers."
