Not Only Kluivers, PSSI Also Ends Cooperation With Vanenburg And Van Kempen

JAKARTA - PSSI not only ended cooperation with the Indonesian national team coach, Patrick Kluivert, but also two coaches from the U-23 and U-20 Indonesian national teams, namely Gerald Vanenburg and Frank van Kempen.

The news of the dismissal of the two Dutch coaches was announced by PSSI on Thursday, October 16, 2025. In fact, the dismissal of Kluivert also ended the cooperation of all coaching teams from the Netherlands at various levels of the Indonesian national team.

"PSSI and the Indonesian National Team (Timnas) coaching team officially agreed to end the cooperation early through the mutual term mechanism."

"This agreement was signed between PSSI and the Parties in the coaching team, which was previously bound by a two-year cooperation contract," wrote PSSI.

In addition to the dismissal of the Dutch coach, at this moment it was also announced that assistant coaches such as Danny Landzaat and Alex Pastoor, and other assistants were also confirmed to leave their positions.

"The termination of this cooperation was carried out on the basis of the approval of the two parties, taking into account the internal dynamics and strategic directions for the development of the national team in the future."

"With the end of this collaboration, the coaching team will no longer handle the Indonesian national team at the senior, U-23, and U-20 levels," PSSI continued.

In the same message, PSSI did not forget to express his appreciation for the contributions made by the coaching team while serving in the country.

"PSSI expresses its appreciation for the contribution of all members of the coaching team during their tenure."

The decision to end the collaboration with Patrick Kluivert was taken by PSSI less than a week after the Indonesian national team failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Previously, Vanenburg also failed to bring the U-23 national team to qualify for the 2026 U-23 Asian Cup.
