JAKARTA - Ducati Lenovo racer Marc Marquez admitted that he could not describe his feelings after returning to the MotoGP world champion or the seventh in his career.

Marc finished on the second podium of the Japanese GP in the main race at the Motegi Circuit, Sunday.

This result is enough to deliver The Baby Alien to ensure the title because mathematically the points now (541 points) are not overtaken by Gresini Racing rider Alex Marquez who is in second place with 340 points.

"After so many challenges and injuries in 2020, I continue to work hard and I can now say I have made peace with myself," Marc said on the Ducati page on Sunday.

The last time Marc became world champion came in 2019 and needed a long process after the 32-year-old rider suffered a series of injuries, accidents, and team changes.

Marc said successive injuries since 2020 were his biggest challenge.

He twice changed teams from Honda to Gresini Racing and then to Ducati Lenovo who finally led him to become world champion again.

"This world title is the best way to close this difficult journey," said the Catalunya racer in Spain.

Marc is now on par with MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi who is both seven world champions.
