Korea Open 2025: Amri/Nita Win, Apri/Fadia Eliminated

Mixed doubles Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah in the second round of the Korea Open 2025 (Doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The mixed doubles Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah beat sixth seed Hiroki Midorikawa/Natsu Saito to reach the quarter-finals of the Korea Open 2025.

They locked the ticket after winning two straight games 21-19 and 21-14 in 37 minutes at Suwon Gymnasium, South Korea, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, morning WIB.

"Alhamdulillah, we can win, we are relieved to be able to revans against them. Earlier we played from the start and continued to accelerate the tempo, we didn't want to lose speed with the opponent," said Amri after the match.

The result also became Amri/Nita's revenge for the Japanese mixed doubles. Previously, Amri/Nita lost the rubber game in their first competitive clash at the Japan Open 2025 last July.

"Being able to beat the seed who has won Super 500 and the top 10 will definitely affect our confidence. Hopefully, from here we can continue to play freely," said Amri.

Amri/Nita are the first representatives of Indonesia to confirm tickets to the quarter-finals. They will then meet the fourth seed from China, Guo Xin Wa/Chen Fang Hui.

Guo/Chen himself locked the ticket to the quarter-finals after successfully repatriating the pair from Thiland, Rutanapak Oupthong/Jhenicha Sudjaipraparat, in a two-game match.

Amri/Nita's journey unfortunately could not be followed by the women's doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti. The pair lost against the third seed host Baek Ha-na/Lee So-hee.

The defeat suffered by Apri/Fadia automatically made the women's doubles sector run out. Apri/Fadia are the only women's singles to play in this Super 500 BWF tournament.
