Chico Wins Indonesia Masters Super 100 To Finish Fasting

Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo won the Indonesia Masters Super 100 (doc PBSI) event.

JAKARTA Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo ended his title fasting in more than two years by successfully climbing the highest podium in the Indonesia Masters Super 100 2025 badminton event.

Chico, who is the sixth seed in the tournament, stopped second seed Jeon Hyeok-jin from South Korea with a score of 13-21, 21-9, and 21-17 at the Pekanbaru Youth Gymnasium, Riau, on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

"I dedicate everything I get to Indonesia. I am grateful that today I was able to fight, never give up, and Allah has given me a way," Chico said after receiving the title.

This is Chico's first title since he won the Taipei Open 2023. After that, his best achievement was only to reach the semifinals of the French Open 2024.

Chico has continued to struggle to get his best performance in recent years, but has been knocked out repeatedly since the early stages of the tournament. He finally decided to leave the PBSI National Training Center.

The badminton player from Papua left Cipayung in May 2025. He left with Jonatan Christie, who also wants to be a professional player at the national badminton parent training center.

"Thank God for being able to be given the title here, to both parents, brothers, sisters, and PBSI who have also given support and trust in me," said Chico.

Chico will next play at the Korea Open 2025 which takes place this week. In the tournament, he will start the journey from the qualifying round.

In total, Indonesian men's singles have four representatives there with Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Alwi Farhan, and Jonatan Christie. The other three names immediately fought from the main round.
