Hong Open 2025: 4 Indonesian Representatives Qualify For Round Of 16

Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti managed to continue their journey to the round of 16 of the Hong Kong Open 2025 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Four of the five Indonesian representatives who fought in the first round of the Hong Kong Open 2025 managed to continue their journey to the round of 16.

Part of the first half of the BWF Super 500 level event held by Hong Kong Coliseum took place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

Of the four representatives who passed, three of them came from women's doubles. The first ticket in this sector was secured by the couple Lanny Tria Mayasari/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi.

Lanny/Amallia stayed in the tournament after successfully stopping the pair Teng Chun Hsun/Yang Chu Yun from China Taipei in a two-game straight match 21-17 and 21-19.

They will then meet Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi. The fourth seed from Japan secured the second half ticket without breaking a sweat due to the opposite walkover (WO).

The next ticket was obtained by Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti. The pair stopped their compatriot steps, Rachel Alllessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum, in the rubber games 21-12, 12-21, and 21-16.

Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari then followed. The pair repatriated representatives of China, Chen Qing Chen/Keng Shu Liang, with a score of 21-15, 21-23, and 21-16.

In the second round, Febriana / Meilysa will face a tough test. The reason is, they have to face the second seed from Malaysia, Pearly Tan / Thinaah Muralitharan.

One ticket later was obtained by the men's doubles Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani. The seventh seed qualified after beating Christian Faust Kjaer/William Kryger Boe from Denmark.

Apart from the doubles, Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah's men's singles also actually played in the qualifying round. Unfortunately, he failed to enter the main round after losing against deputy host Jason Gunawan.
