JAKARTA The Indonesian mixed fighting contingent managed to bring home four medals from the 1st AMMA Asian Youth Championships 2025.

The tournament took place on 29'30 August 2025 in Manama, Bahrain. Indonesia sent seven athletes and brought home one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

The General Chairman of the Indonesian Mixed Fighting Association (Pertacami), Tommy Paulus Hermawan, said he was proud of the achievements of Indonesian athletes in the qualifying event for the 2025 Asian Youth Games.

"Their struggle was not easy because their opponents were from strong countries in Asia. Athletes proved their struggle by getting the best position, namely two athletes entering the final and two athletes entering the semifinals," he said.

The only gold medal was won by Gibran Alfarizi who performed brilliantly in the traditional MMA 65 kg (U-18) number. The silver medal was presented by the only female athlete, namely Manayra Maritza Hersianti Siagian.

Manayra got silver in the modern MMA number 45 kg (U-18). Meanwhile, two bronze medals were donated by Lukas Oliver Lubis Sedlak in the modern MMA number 60 kg (U-16) and Bumi Magani Abraar Himara in the modern MMA number 55 kg (U-18).

In addition to medals, representatives of Indonesia are also able to compete for the top five of Asia, including Fachriza Satria Sampora (moderan MMA 50 kg U-18) and Satria Eka Suryo Basroni (traditional MMA 60 kg U-18) and Rangga Dika Mahendra (modern MMA 60 kg U-18).

"In this qualifying match, we learned the opponent's strength to pursue success at the 3rd Asian Youth Games 2025, which is the qualification in the Asian zone towards the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal," said Tommy.

He further emphasized that the achievements achieved by these young athletes proved that Indonesia's MMA (mixed martial arts) has great potential that can speak internationally.

"For a full year we have consistently carried out MMA Indonesia's guidance towards the international stage," he said.

This guidance was carried out by Pertambami in collaboration with the Jakarta State University (UNJ). The partnership uses an integrated approach with the Faculty of Sports Sciences and integrated sports exercises.
