Fulham Vs Burnley 0-2: The Cottagers Relegated, Parker Says Premier League Is Brutal

JAKARTA - Coach Scott Parker admits Fulham has a number of big decisions to make after they are confirmed to return to the Championship for next season.

The Cottagers fell apart after suffering a 0-2 defeat to Burnley that saw the Clarets secure their top-flight status for the following season.

With this result, all the relegated teams have been confirmed where cottagers join Sheffield United and West Brom as the three clubs that went down to the Championship.

Fulham's collapse came before the break as Burnley scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the first half at Craven Cottage on Tuesday, May 11.

Matej Vydra put in a fine performance before feeding Ashley Westwood who sent the ball into the empty net.

Chris Wood then scored his second from the edge of the penalty area. Wood's 50th goal for Burnley was a disaster for Fulham, who had to give up just one season in the Premier League.

The result leaves Parker's team 10 points adrift of safety with three games remaining.

Speaking after the game, Parker told BBC Sport: "It (relegation) has overshadowed (us) but (this result) doesn't hide the disappointment, heartache, and sadness I felt tonight. That's inevitable now. I'm heartbroken."

"We have undergone some major improvements and pushed on certain elements, the fact is that we have failed. We haven't been good enough."

"Tonight is how the season has passed. The players need to understand what you need to bring at this level (Premier League). There are efforts and efforts but you need more to survive at this level. This level is brutal. Small details are key."
