The Development Of Conditions For 3 Key Indonesian U-23 Players Ahead Of The 2025 AFF U-23 Cup Final

JAKARTA - The U-23 Indonesian national team coach, Gerald Vanenburg, gave news about the condition of the three players who were previously quite worrying. These players are Jens Raven, Arkhan Fikri, and Toni Firmansyah.

The U-23 Indonesian national team is scheduled to play the final match of the 2025 AFF U-23 Cup against Vietnam U-23 at the Gelora Bung Karno (SUGBK) Main Stadium, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. The fitness of the three players above has caught the attention of the coach.

Jens Raven is known to have muscle problems even though she can still play. Meanwhile, Arkhan Fikri was absent in the last two matches of Indonesia U-23, as well as Toni Firmansyah did not appear in the semifinals versus Thailand U-23.

Vanenburg said the coaching team will continue to monitor the condition of players from the last official exercise which took place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

"Then the players also underwent light training on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, morning. We'll see again the condition. We'll see who's ready to play from the first minute," said Gerald Vanenburg at a press conference before the match, Monday, July 28, 2025.

Gerald Vanenburg also said that the condition of the three players was very good. He also hopes that the three of them can play against Vietnam.

Even so, Vanenburg insists that he will not take risks and force his team to play.

"You have to be careful. Especially for Arkhan, if he needs more time to recover, then I will give even if he loses later. You see, he is still young and his future is long," he said.
