Ubed Secures Title At The 2025 Asian Junior Championships After Overthrowing China's Representative

Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah alias Ubed managed to secure the title at the 2025 Asian Junior Championships. Down in the men's singles number, he was empowered by the Chinese representative, Liu Yang Ming Yu.

Appearing at GOR Manahan, Solo on Sunday, July 27, Ubed, who is the first seed, won a straight game with a fixed score of 21-12, 21-17.

This score made Ubed the third Indonesian badminton player to win the title at the Asian Junior Championship. He followed in the footsteps of Taufik Hidayat, who won 1997 and Ardiansyah in 2001.

This achievement made Ubed as the sole representative of Indonesian men who could come out as champions after 24 years of waiting. The last time this status was secured by Ardiansyah managed to win the title as the best badminton player.

Ubed showed convincing performance in this final. The 18-year-old badminton player did not allow Liu to develop the game.

In the first game, Ubed continued to excel in points. He managed to record a 7-2 advantage over his opponent at the beginning of the first game.

The dominance continued until finally Ubed was able to close the interval of the first game with a score of 11-3.

Ubed can keep that distance from points after the interval. Ubed closed the first game with a convincing score of 21-12.

Continued in the second game, Ubed was 5-6 behind but could turn things around until they were 11-8 ahead at the interval.

Liu did not just give up and continued to try to catch up. However, Ubed was able to maintain the advantage to close the second game with a score of 21-17 while ensuring the title at the 2025 Asian Junior Championships.
