KKO Indra Sakti Wins Overall, Ready To Spread Red And White In Japan

JAKARTA The Karate-Do (KKO) club Indra Sakti again showed off in the international arena. Fighting with only 36 athletes, they actually came out as overall champions in Ikigai Kyokushin Warrior Open 2 which was held on Saturday, June 21.

Without much prior attention, KKO Indra Sakti appeared dominant. They wiped out 24 gold medals in the committee number, 12 gold in the word number, and 10 silver from various classes. More than 300 participants from seven countries and 27 organizations were unable to stem the pace of these young Malaysian champions from Indonesia.

One of the most striking moments occurred in the Kata Group category, when the men's and women's team KKO Indra Sakti met in the final. The fight between athletes in this club is proof of how strong the internal quality of Sensei Surianto Chang's team is.

It didn't stop there, they also made achievements in the freestyle class. The four titles were won, showing that KKO Indra Sakti is not only good at traditional techniques, but also adaptive to modern formats.

"We didn't come with a big group. But we came mentally champions. The children have proven their hard work. Our promise to take them to Japan, we will do it," said Sensei Surianto Chang in a written statement received Tuesday, June 24.

This championship also made history. For the first time, Weapon's Kata number was officially competed in Indonesia. KKO athletes are again ahead: William Tjhin won gold through Kata Tonfa, while Senpei Aoi won silver with Nunchaku's words.

In line with the coach's promise, KKO Indra Sakti will represent Indonesia in the Dragon Cup event in Kagoshima, Japan, October 2025.

This achievement is not just a matter of the number of medals. This is a picture of dedication, discipline, and determination to make Indonesia known on the map of the world of karate.
