Three People Died, 70 More Injured After Falling From Stadium In Algeria

The Algerian team, MC Alger, mourned the death of supporters and many were injured as a result of falling from the stadium (Instagram/@mcagler.officiel).

JAKARTA - Three spectators were killed and more than 70 others injured after falling from the stands over the stadium following MC Alger's second consecutive victory in Ligue Professionnlle 1 Algeria.

"Beni Messous University Hospital received 38 injuries, while three deaths were recorded."

"Ben Aknoun Hospital also received 27 injuries, while Bab El Oued Hospital received 16 people," the Algerian Ministry of Health said in a statement.

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed his condolences and prayed for a speedy recovery for the injured.
