JAKARTA The Djarum Foundation and the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) together with PT Perada Swara Productions will hold the 2025 National Sports Week (PON) Self-Defense in October 2025.
The holding of the event which will be held at GOR Djarum Kaliputu, Kudus, Central Java, begins with the signing of a cooperation agreement at the Central KONI Office, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
Chairman of the Central KONI, Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) Marciano Norman, hopes that the synergy collaboration between the private sector and this sports organization is expected to run smoothly and be able to produce potential athletes.
"This is a positive thing. Because in sports achievement development, it cannot only be done by the government itself. It cannot be done by the central KONI itself."
"However, support from the private sector who have an interest in sports coaching is very important," he said.

PON Martial Arts 2025 is a new breakthrough from the Central KONI as well as an answer to the limited competition space for non-Olympic martial arts that is not accommodated in regular PON.
This event included one of the four new events launched by the Central KONI, in addition to the Indonesia Beach Games, Indonesia Indoor Games, and the Indonesia Youth Games. This aims to expand the competition ecosystem and national athlete development.
"The Djarum Foundation deserves the highest appreciation. Support for the 2025 Self-Defense PON is an important part of joint efforts to build a healthy, competitive, and accomplished sports ecosystem," said Marciano.
PON Martial Arts 2025 is the first edition and will bring together 10 martial arts sports. The sports are pencak silat, fighting degrees, karate, taekwondo, wrestling, judo, jujitsu, sambo, kempo, and wushu.
Collaboration with sports organizations in Indonesia is not the first time Djarum Foundation has done. Previously, they consistently made achievements in badminton, early-aged women's soccer tournaments, athletic championships, archery, and various other national championship events.
Martin Basuki Hartono from the Djarum Foundation said that his party positively welcomed the initiation from the Central KONI in determining the Self-Defense PON. He said athletes from this sport should have a forum for show off their abilities.
"PON Martial Arts 2025 is an important moment to show that Indonesia has strength, not only physically, but also mentally and character."
"We want to be part of the athletes' journey to the international podium," he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the 2025 Self-Defense PON Organizer who is also the Deputy Program Director of the Djarum Foundation Sports Service, Ryan Gozali, hopes that Kudus can become a comfortable place for all participants.
"GOR Djarum Kaliputu is ready to witness the history of the birth of martial arts athletes. Coupled with the new building at the GOR and a number of adequate facilities, it will support the success of the 2025 Martial Arts PON," said Ryan.
The hope was also conveyed by the General Manager of PT Perada Swara Productions, Gege Dhirantara. He expressed his appreciation and great hope for this historic collaboration.
"This collaboration is not just a partnership, but a shared spirit to raise Indonesian martial arts to a higher level. We are optimistic that with solid collaboration and full dedication, the 2025 Self-Defense PON will be a proud event," said Gege.
