Atma Jaya University Student Center Yogyakarta became the venue for the 2nd South East Asia Hapkido Championship 2025 match which was attended by 440 participants from Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam and some even from Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, India to Mexico.
The championship was officially opened on June 14, 2025 by symbolically beating the gong by the Head of the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Lt. Gen. Retired Marciano Norman.
In his remarks, the Head of the Central KONI expressed his gratitude for the hard work and collaboration of the Hakido Indonesia Central Management (PP.HI), the DIY Provincial Government, Atma Jaya and all parties who support the implementation. It was also conveyed pride to the Indonesian contingent. To all participants, the Head of the Central KONI hopes to improve the quality of the Hapkido sport.
"I hope Hapkido's quality can be improved so that one day it can be competed in the SEA Games, Asian Games to the Olympics," he ordered.

Chairman of PP.HI Gusti Bendoro Pangeran Haryo (GBPH) Prabukusumo emphasized that the 2nd SEA Hapkido Championship 2025 is related to Hapkido's vision to be competed in the SEA Games. "This achievement is an embrio for Hapkido to be competed in the SEA Games," he said.
