Not A Good Season For Real Madrid In El Clasico

JAKARTA - Known as The Classic (El Clasico in Spanish), this is a hot competition between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

With usual high stakes and deep political tones, clashes between the two Spanish clubs have grown into a global phenomenon since starting in 1902.

Barcelona, founded in 1899, is a symbol of Catalan independence, while Real Madrid, founded three years later, is the heart of Spanish nationalism.

What adds to the competition is the participation of several legendary players, including the iconic duel between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

El Clasico will be presented again this weekend, to be precise Sunday, April 27, 2025. Real Madrid and Barcelona met in the Copa del Rey final.

The problem is, this season is not a good season for Real Madrid in a battle full of rivalry.

There have been two El Clasico presented this season. The first duel took place at the first meeting in La Liga 2024/2025 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In the October 27, 2024, Barcelona beat Real Madrid with a landslide score of 4-0.

Then, the second clash was presented at Supercopa de Espana on January 13, 2025. Again, the Blaugrana managed to beat Los Blancos with a landslide score of 5-2.

After the meeting in the Copa del Rey final, the two teams still have one more duel for their second meeting in La Liga on May 11, 2025.

However, Real Madrid has a good record in the history of El Clasico. The record could motivate Carlo Ancelotti's men to beat Barcelona in the remaining two meetings with the rival.
