Jamie Vardy's Frustration Seeing Leicester City Re-Degrading From The Premier League

JAKARTA - Jamie Vardy criticized himself and fellow Leicester City players after being relegated from the Premier League this season, saying his own performance in the campaign was embarrassing.

The 0-1 home defeat to the Premier League leader, Liverpool, made Leicester, who is in 19th position, confirmed to be relegated on Sunday, April 20, 2025, after only one season back in the league.

Leicester, who won the Premier League title against all obstacles in 2016, was in the midst of a grim performance.

They lost their last nine home league games in a row without scoring a goal - a record in the Premier League.

Former England National Team player, Vardy, the hero Leicester's goal scorer on their way to the 2016 title and the winner of the Premier League Golden Boot in 2019/2020, also failed to impress. He has scored just seven league goals in 31 appearances this season.

Leicester, who are ranked 19th in the standings with 18 points from 33 matches, will then travel to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

Jamie Vardy has never changed uniforms since joining Leicester in 2012. He remains loyal to The Fox despite the ups and downs.

Two seasons playing in Championship, Vardy helped Leicester stay in the Premier League from 2014-2023.
