Olympic Gold Winner Jordan Thompson Joins Proliga 2025

United States volleyball star Jordan Thompson joined the Jakarta volleyball club Pertamina Enduro (doc. Jakarta Pertamina Enduro).

JAKARTA - Jakarta Pertamina Enduro (JPE) officially recruited a volleyball star from the United States, Jordan Thompson, to navigate the 2025 Four Proliga Final which will take place this month.

The 27-year-old player is known as one of the best opposite in the world. He has made many achievements, one of which is to get a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

"Jordan Thompson's presence is proof of our seriousness to continue to compete at the highest level," said JPE's Chef de Mission, Werry Prayogi, as received in a statement.

In addition to the gold medal, the 193 centimeters tall player is also part of the United States team who won a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. At that time, he was the top scorer for his team in the final round against Italy.

As for the club level, Thompson has strengthened elite European teams, such as Fenerbahce, EZZacibasmen Vitra, Vero Volley Milano, and VakterfBank SK.

In 2025, he was named MVP and Opposite Approach of The Year in League One Volleyball (LOVB), United States.

Werry Prayogi stated that Jordan Thompson's presence made his team raise their target at Proliga 2025. He also hopes that the player can inspire young Indonesian players.

"We hope that his presence will not only strengthen the team from a technical point of view, but also bring the fighting spirit, professionalism, and mental champion that can be transmitted to all team members," he said.

JPE reached the final round of the 2025 Four Proliga with a record of seven wins and five defeats. They occupy second place in the standings, behind Jakarta Popsivo Polwan who won the regular season.

The 2025 Proliga Four Finals will begin on April 17, 2025. JPE will compete in the first match against Jakarta Electric PLN.
