Indonesia Doesn't Bring Home A Title At All England 2025

JAKARTA Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana's men's doubles had to settle for closing their journey in the All England 2025 event as runners-up.

Leo/Bagas occupied the second podium after losing against South Korean representatives, Kim Won-ho/Seo Seung-jae, two straight games 19-21 and 19-21 on Sunday, March 16, 2025, WIB night.

"Alhamdulillah, it can reach the final, but it is not easy in the party earlier," said Leo after the match as received in a statement from PBSI Public Relations.

Leo/Bagas are the only Indonesian representatives who can reach the final of the oldest event in the world. They reached the final match after the compatriot, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, in the semifinals.

This is their second final since it was reshuffled to the current formation and made its debut at the Japan Open 2024 in August 2024.

Another final was obtained at the Korea Open 2024, their second tournament after making their debut. At that time, they finally managed to come out as champions.

"We certainly are not satisfied with this result, we want more and more, but we can't go down because this is not a bad result," said Leo.

Leo/Bagas' defeat made Indonesia unable to bring home any title from All England.

This empty-handed result is the first for Indonesia since it last experienced it in the 2021 edition.

Meanwhile, Leo/Bagas will next play at the Swiss Open 2025. The event will take place from Tuesday, March 18, 2025, to March 23, 2025 in St. Jakobshalle, Switzerland.

At the Super 300 BWF event, Leo/Bagas will start their journey against the men's doubles from China Taipei, Liu Kuang Heng/Yang Po Han.
