Atletico Vs Huesca 2-0: Los Colchoneros Back To Top By Defeating Real Madrid

JAKARTA - Atletico Madrid won 2-0 over Huesca and returned to the top of the Spanish League standings in the 31st matchday at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano on Friday morning, western Indonesia time.

According to Antara, two goals from Atletico were scored by Angel Correa in the first half and Yanick Fereira Carrasco in the second half.

Atletico, who needed a victory to return to the top of the standings, immediately played aggressively from the early minutes. They pressed the Huesca defense by taking advantage of the movements of Kieran Trippier and Renan Lodi on the flank.

However, Huesca had a chance to score in the third minute from a free-kick. The ball headed in front of the goal and was headed by Dimitrios Siovas, but goalkeeper Jan Oblak was able to secure it.

The home team responded in the 11th minute with two consecutive chances. Marcos Llorente stabs from the right and sends the ball to Yannick Fereira Carrasco, but is pushed over by Aitor Fernandez.

The ball vomited by Saul Niguez, who was again blocked by Fernandez to produce a corner. A minute later Hector Herrera threatens with a volley, but the ball is still to the side.

In the 59th minute, Renan Lodi fired a shot on the right of the Huesca defense and aimed the ball right into the corner, but Fernandez was blocked.

The visitors threatened in the 79th minute when Sergio Gomez passed two Atletico players and when he was about to shoot, Stefan Savic swiftly cleared the ball.

Atletico managed to score their second goal in the 81st minute. Moussa Dembele managed to escape the offside trap when he received a pass on the right and he pulled off a lug, which was thwarted by the Huesca defense.

The ball was taken over by the visitors in defense, but a two-man blunder allowed Llorente to take it.

Llorente, who saw Carrasco free, put the ball straight to him and was easily put into the net from close range. Until the match ended, the score 2-0 for Atletico's victory lasted.

This victory made Atletico able to take Real Madrid's position with 73 points from 32 matches. They are now three points ahead of their city rivals.

Meanwhile, Huesca still has to be in 18th place with 27 points.
